This is a 6 x 6 gouache painting for the album cover of 1989 (Taylor’s Version). This has been one of my favorite albums for a long time. When the rerecorded version of this album was announced, I was so excited to paint this cover! I wanted to focus on the body proportions, as well as capturing the grainy texture of this Polaroid picture. This piece was created in August 2023.
